What is prop trading?

You do not stake a $50,000 personal account to prove you can trade. You buy an evaluation, pass the rules that are written on the package, and the firm allocates capital. Most of the profit stays with you.

Proprietary trading, without the jargon

A prop firm lets traders operate on the firm's capital after they prove they can follow a risk contract. In practice that contract is a challenge: a profit target, a maximum loss, sometimes a time window, always a leverage cap. Hit the target without breaking the cap and you move forward. Break the cap and that attempt ends.

The word is still new in some markets. Abroad it is already a job path: you are not raising a huge personal bankroll first. You are buying a seat at an evaluation desk. Infinit Markets puts that desk, the league, your level and your career on one screen so the path is numbers, not a pitch.

How it differs from trading your own money

Both involve charts, entries and risk. The capital and the contract are not the same.

Personal account

You deposit the full size. Every loss is yours. There is no evaluation fee, and also no firm standing behind the book. Scaling means depositing more of your own cash.

Prop evaluation

You pay a fee for the challenge. Funded capital is the firm's. You keep a published split of net profit. Breach the written rules and that run closes — you do not owe the account size.

How a challenge actually works

A challenge is a paid evaluation on simulated capital. The package card is the contract: account size, profit target, max loss, trading days and leverage. Nothing important should move after you start.

  1. 1

    Pick a package

Choose the account size you want to be evaluated on. The fee is listed. So are the target and the loss cap.

  2. 2

    Trade the phase

One-phase packs go straight toward funded. Two-phase packs ask you to repeat the result. Either way: hit the target, stay inside max loss.

  3. 3

Move to funded — or close the attempt

Pass and the firm opens the funded desk. Fail and that ticket is spent.

What “funded” actually means

Funded is not a prize account you own. It is allocated capital with the same family of risk rules. You trade. You withdraw on the split and the calendar. League points, level and career keep writing from this desk.

Payouts at Infinit Markets are processed in under 48 hours once you are eligible.

The rules that actually matter

If a rule is not on the package, treat it as marketing. These are the ones that close or keep an account.

Max drawdown

Each package sets its own max drawdown, written on the package card before you start. Cross it and the attempt ends.

Profit target

A percentage of the account size. Reach it without breaching the cap and you advance a phase or go funded.

Package rules, written down

Minimum trading days, profit days, volume and holding rules are set per package and written on the card. Trade your own style within them.

Profit split and refunds

Your reward split rate once funded is set on the package. Where a package offers a fee refund, its percent is in the package terms.

Who this is for — and who should skip it

Prop is a contract, not a shortcut. If you need a lottery ticket, this is the wrong product. If you already have a method and the size of your account is the obstacle in front of you, let's remove that obstacle.

It fits if

You can explain your risk in one sentence. You can sit through a losing day without doubling size. You want a public record — league, level, career — not a private demo.

Skip it if

You are still guessing entries. You cannot follow a written loss cap. You expect the fee to behave like a deposit you can withdraw.
